Science Proves Women Are Just As Interested In Casual Sex

Science is starting to catch up with what I have been saying for years… that women are just as interested in sex as men are.

More precisely, what I have been saying is that women are highly sexual creatures and that women are actually much more sexual than men. Women love sex. Period.

But my teachings have been in the context of an ongoing sexual relationship. I have not addressed the casual sex discussion. But university researchers have certainly studied the respective genders’ interest in sex by looking into the arena of hypothetical proposals for casual sex.

The seminal study by Russell Clark and Elaine Hatfield, showed that men are much more willing to engage in casual sex than women. The results have been explained with “Sexual Strategies Theory“, an evolutionary based motivation for preservation of the species.

Some researchers have questioned the methods used in the experiments. A recent study by Dr. Terri D. Conley of the University of Michigan, proposed a different method and found that women were just as likely as men to engage in casual sex so long as the woman felt no threat and knew that the man was skilled in bed to give the woman pleasure.

Dr. Conley explained the results with “Pleasure Theory“, which states that both men and women are motivated to sex by pleasure.

Paraphrasing, Dr. Conley stated that for men, it is pretty much a given that he will receive pleasure in the sex. For women, however, pleasure requires that the woman feels no threat and that the man is skilled to give her pleasure.

There is already some debate about Dr. Conley’s research methods.

At any rate, whether casual sex is the appropriate arena to study the respective genders’ interest in sex is a debate that will continue, and the search for the theory that explains the motivation for members of the respective genders to have sex will go on.

I’ll just watch as science continues to strive to figure it all out.

It is not hard to understand that something so critical to preservation of the species is something so pleasurable. No surprise there.

Unfortunately, the pleasure factor is typically very lopsided. All too often it is easy for men to have pleasure from sex, while for women it is all too rare.
